Together in Diversity

German society is becoming increasingly diverse driven by migration, more individualized lifestyles, and growing socioeconomic inequality. This diversity creates opportunities, but it also gives rise to tensions, reflected in gaps of participation and acceptance, as well as declining trust and solidarity. We are therefore committed to strengthening social cohesion across the country. We focus on the integration of immigrants into the labor market as a key pathway to participation and acceptance. At the same time we strengthen social spaces as foundations of democratic coexistence. These are places where people from different backgrounds and milieus come together and work toward the common good – often in partnership with local authorities and business. We place particular emphasis on supporting actors in eastern Germany.
