The Semifinalists in the 20th NEUE STIMMEN Competition have been announced

The 16 semifinalists of the NEUE STIMMEN 2024 International Singing Competition have been announced. Of the 40 young participants from 19 nations who came to Gütersloh on Sunday for the final round of the competition, 16 singers from 10 nations will be singing in the semifinal this coming Wednesday.

They presented themselves and their skills at the auditions on Monday and Tuesday to the renowned ten-member jury chaired by Dominique Meyer, director of La Scala in Milan:

"These young people can enchant their audiences on the world's great stages. They are pursuing their dream of an opera career with great joy, ambition and enthusiasm. I wish all the semi-finalists every success," says Liz Mohn, founder of the competition and Chairwoman of the Board of the Liz Mohn Foundation. "I would like to encourage those who did not make it to the semi finals. They have held their own against 1,000 singers from all over the world. I am convinced that they have a good chance of a successful career," continued Liz Mohn.

If you would like to experience the competition live in the Stadthalle Gütersloh, you still have a chance: the semifinal will take place on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. Tickets cost 12 euros (concessions: 6.50 euros). The final starts on Friday at 7:00 p.m. Last seats are still available for 39.50 euros per person (concessions 20.25 euros) at Gütersloh Marketing or at www.stadthalle-gt.de.

As with previous competitions, both the semifinal (with piano accompaniment) and the final can be viewed via livestream. The semifinal will be available on the website www.neue-stimmen.de. The final will be broadcast live on the opera streaming platform OperaVision (https://operavision.eu/).
