Short Vita
Dr. Daniel Schraad-Tischler is Director of the Sustainable Social Market Economies program. He specializes in the fields of innovation, startups, sustainable business activities and political governance. Since joining the Bertelsmann Stiftung in 2008, he has managed and further developed projects in various areas, including the labor market, social security and indicator-based comparisons of the world’s welfare states (Sustainable Governance Indicators, Social Justice Index). He was also responsible for the 2020 Reinhard Mohn Prize on "Fostering innovation. Unlocking potential," which evolved into the ongoing project Fostering Innovation and Entrepreneurial Dynamism. Before joining the Bertelsmann Stiftung, he was a research assistant for the Jean Monnet Chair for European Policy at the University of Cologne, where he completed his doctorate in 2009 in the Department of Economics and Social Sciences.
