"The extraordinary young talents, who will compete in the finals, have much more to offer than just a good voice. They have thoroughly impressed us with their personalities, their discipline and their presence. I am delighted for each individual singer and wish all of them much success for their coming performance."

Liz Mohn, president of NEUE STIMMEN and vice-chairwoman of the Bertelsmann Stiftung Executive Board

The People's Choice Award went to soprano Samuel Mariño (Venezuela, born in 1993). As is the case at every NEUE STIMMEN competition, the vote to award the People's Choice Award was one of the evening's high points, eagerly awaited by everyone in the audience.
