Key Findings: Social Sustainability Barometer 2026

The transition towards a more sustainable society is increasingly shaping politics, the economy and people’s everyday lives in Germany. But how do people in Germany view this transformation? What expectations and concerns shape their attitudes? The Social Sustainability Barometer provides answers to these and other questions. This year’s findings show that, on the one hand, broad underlying support for climate action remains intact. On the other hand, support for the specific design and implementation of the sustainability transition is coming under increasing pressure.
