Our 19th NEUE STIMMEN International Singing Competition will take place again this year as planned, but with an approach and schedule that have been adapted to the coronavirus pandemic. Young opera singers have until May 31 to submit their applications, which for the first time will include a video component.

As part of a new online format, rising opera singers from all over the world will receive invaluable support helping them on the way to successful careers. From 26 to 30 October, they will work with high-profile opera experts, both individually and in groups, to further develop their skills. Communal activities will play an important role and build on NEUE STIMMEN’s network ethos, even in the digital environment.

Soprano Anna El-Khashem from Russia and Tenor Long Long from China top the list at the 18th international singing competition NEUE STIMMEN. At the final round in Gütersloh, these young talents enthralled the jury of international opera experts. The three top competitors in the women and men category received cash prizes worth a total of 65,000 euros. Vladislav Buyalskiy from Ukraine won the new introduced Brian Dickie Young Singers Award.

Ten opera talents have qualified for the final round of the NEUE STIMMEN International Singing Competiton in Gütersloh. The final concert to be held on October 26, 2019 will be broadcast live on neue-stimmen.de, Takt 1 and arte Concert. 

18 young opera talents have qualified for the semi-final of the NEUE STIMMEN 2019 international singing competition. We will livestream the concert on Thursday evening from Gütersloh, Germany. There the singers will compete for their participation in the final concert on Saturday.

Young singers from around the world can now submit applications to participate in the NEUE STIMMEN International Singing Competition. Applications will be accepted until March 25, 2019. The jury for the preliminary auditions has been expanded to include Sophie Joyce and Alexander Neef.

The final is over:Mezzo-Soprano Svetlina Stoyanova from Bulgaria and Bass Cho ChanHee from South Korea are the winners of the 17. International Singing Competition NEUE STIMMEN. In a high-class final in Stadthalle Gütersloh they prevailed against strong competitors.

NEUE STIMMEN finals, here we come! In the semifinals of our International Singing Competition the jury selected five female and five male singers for the grand concert on Saturday in the Gütersloh Stadthalle. Watch this exciting final via livestream!

The 16 semifinalists for the 2017 NEUE STIMMEN International Singing Competition have now been chosen. Of the 39 young talents who arrived in Gütersloh on Sunday to participate in the final round, 8 female singers and 8 male singers from 12 countries will compete in the semifinals this Thursday.

In 2017, NEUE STIMMEN is celebrating its 30th anniversary. Since its founding, the competition has become an international platform for creating careers. And NEUE STIMMEN continues to develop further. Before that, this year’s anniversary event will shine a spotlight on the 41 participants competing in the final round in Gütersloh from October 8 to 14.

Some 1,500 young opera talents applied to participate in the NEUE STIMMEN International Singing Competition in 2017, the year that marks the event's 30th anniversary. Over the last four months, the jury selected the 42 best contestants to compete in the final round, which will be held from October 7 to 14 in Gütersloh. That is where the up-and-coming performers will demonstrate their vocal talents and will have the chance to further develop their artistic talents.

Until March 31 young opera singers from around the world have the chance to submit their application for our NEUE STIMMEN International Singing Competition. Participating in the competition can be a crucial step for launching a high-profile career, as the current success of 2013 prizewinner Nadine Sierra shows.

Thirteen young opera singers from twelve nations took to the stage on Saturday evening for the concert concluding the 2016 NEUE STIMMEN Master Class. The performers had spent the previous week working intensively with internationally renowned instructors on their vocal technique, stage presence and personal development.

On Saturday, October 22nd, NEUE STIMMEN's 11th Master Class got underway with 13 talented young opera singers working to improve their vocal performance and stage presence with internationally renowned artists and coaches. This year, for the first time ever, opera enthusiasts can follow developments live with this year's Master Class!

NEUE STIMMEN finals, here we come! In the semifinals of the international singing competition on Thursday, the jury selected five female and six male singers for the grand concert on Saturday. The French soprano Elsa Dreisig won the people's choice award.

The semifinalists for the 2015 NEUE STIMMEN International Singing Competition have been chosen. Of the 42 young talents who arrived in Gütersloh on Sunday to participate in the competition’s final round, 10 female singers and 9 male singers have been selected to continue to the semifinals.

There's music in the air: from October 17 to 24, young opera talents from all over the world will once again be gathering in Gütersloh. A total of 42 up-and-coming singers from 30 countries will be performing for an international jury during the 16th NEUE STIMMEN International Singing Competition.

From Beijing and Sydney to Rome, New York, Buenos Aires and Cape Town: After three months of preliminary auditions on 6 continents and in 26 cities the participants of the NEUEN STIMMEN 2015 are selected. 46 young Opera talents have qualified for the final round, which starts at October 17 in Gütersloh. 

Over 1,300 young talents have applied to participate in the 16th NEUE STIMMEN International Singing Competition. This year the preliminary auditions start in Japan and will be held worldwide - from Asia over Europe and Africa to South- and North-America and Australia.

Former prizewinners and participants in the NEUE STIMMEN International Singing Competition took their audience on a musical "winter's journey" Thursday evening in Berlin. Liz Mohn, vice-chair of the Bertelsmann Stiftung Executive Board, organized the event, which was held at the Bertelsmann Center in the heart of Germany's capital.  

Up-and-coming opera singers from around the world have until April 6, 2015, to apply to participate in the Bertelsmann Stiftung's NEUE STIMMEN International Singing Competition. The finals will be held from October 18 to 25, 2015, in Gütersloh, Germany.

With “Neue Stimmen,” the Bertelsmann Stiftung opens up a great opportunity for talented young vocalists from across the world to realize their dream of a singing future.

At the end of the final concert for the third NEUE STIMMEN Lied Master Class on Friday evening in Gütersloh Theater, the standing ovation said it all. Four young singers had given compelling performances, singing lieder by Franz Schubert and Richard Strauss.

After a week of intensive work in the 2014 NEUE STIMMEN Master Class twelve young opera talents gave an enthralling final concert of well-known and demanding opera melodies last Saturday in the Bertelsmann Stiftung's foyer.

The International Singing Competition NEUE STIMMEN has its sights set on the future. Liz Mohn, co-chairwoman of Bertelsmann Stiftung, sent out invitations for the prize winners' concert at the Bertelsmann's offices on Unter den Linden in Berlin.
