Vision Europe Summit 2015

The first Vision Europe Summit took place in Berlin on 17 and 18 November 2015. International politicians and experts exchanged their views on the topic “The welfare state – problem or solution?”

During the Summit, the collaborating foundations and think tanks presented the policy briefs which they had prepared throughout the year 2015. The papers, which have been collected in the publication Redesigning European welfare states – Ways forward, deal with the social, economic and governance aspects of the welfare state and were discussed by the participants in round tables and a panel discussion.

Also the results of the survey Welfare state reforms – Mapping citizens’ opinion were intensively debated.

The conference declaration, expressing the vision of a social Europe on both the national and European level, was finalized, taking into consideration the comments and responses provided by the summit participants.
