Who We Are
Who We Are
The Bertelsmann Stiftung is committed to ensuring everyone can participate in society. Since the foundation was established in 1977, roughly 380 employees at our Gütersloh headquarters and other international locations have developed a wide range of projects and initiatives designed to achieve this goal.
As a private operating foundation, we usually develop our project ourselves, providing support as they are implemented. We set high standards for our work in terms of its quality and social relevance. We continually learn from our experiences.
In keeping with the beliefs of our founder, Reinhard Mohn, we contribute to the common good. The values of freedom, solidarity and goodwill drive the work we do. We believe that competition and civic engagement are the basis of social progress.
