Description

The Comprehensive and Progressive Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) is often described as one of the most innovative and far-reaching free trade agreements. It contains novel ways of dealing with many areas of trade policy that continue to be contentious, such as e-commerce, the role of state-owned enterprises and intellectual property protection. In this paper, Deborah Elms of the Asian Trade Centre reviews the CPTPP and the novel ideas it is bringing to trade policy.
