The #SmartHealthSystems study shows European Union Member States are advancing at different speeds in the digital transformation of the healthcare sector. Countries that are succeeding in digitalizing their healthcare systems feature an effective strategy, strong political leadership and a coordinating institution with a clear national mandate. The European Commission and Member States should continue to foster the exchange of best practices between health systems and promote common technical specifications and standards for digital health tools and exchange formats.

Die Digitalisierung verändert die Gesundheitsversorgung - darüber sind sich die Akteure im System einig. Ganz unterschiedliche Haltungen gibt es aber zu den Möglichkeiten und Grenzen des digitalen Wandels. Das 2022 abgeschlossene Projekt "Der digitale Patient" zielte darauf ab, in Form von Analysen und Konzepten sowie mit verschiedenen Diskursformaten neue technologische Entwicklungen in den Dienst der Gesundheit zu stellen.
