Description
A free trade agreement between the European Union and the Eurasian Economic Union would bring considerable growth potential and could lead to a de-escalation of the political relationship between the two trading blocs. The exchange of goods and services would see a strong increase. Especially the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union would also experience substantial welfare gains. The political rivalry between the two trading blocs would be overcome. The positive economic effects would be even larger if other CIS countries beyond the Eurasian Economic Union were to be included in a common free trade area.
