Marianne Thyssen is not going to have an easy time. The financial and economic crises in the past few years have left their mark on many EU member states. Today 5.7 million young people are unemployed. And the EU is a long way away from attaining its own "inclusive growth" targets. Poverty has not only increased in absolute terms.
