Cities and Cultural Diversity

Cities have always been the site of interaction among people with different identities, lifestyles and customs. And they have always attracted migrants – people leaving rural areas for an urban environment, people who have left other countries for Germany. New arrivals’ motivations and backgrounds are as diverse as the cultural expressions of the people who today live together in cities.  This excerpt of the study offers an overview of the state of research on living together in culturally diverse cities.
