ACT2GETHER – Fair opportunities for young people

More than a quarter of all young people have poorer opportunities to participate, contribute and grow up well due to social inequality. 2.8 million children and young people in Germany are affected by poverty. The ACT2GETHER initiative is committed to providing fair opportunities for these young people. Along with many partners, ACT2GETHER is working on effective solutions against social inequality with and for marginalized young people.

Description

From 2018 to 2022, the ACT2GETHER project worked to ensure fair opportunities for socially disadvantaged children and youth. On the one hand, individuals were directly addressed as a target group: In the module 2GETHERLAND, young people and their adult companions were directly empowered at two camps in 2019 and 2022 through a diverse range of workshops and were able to continue their engagement in local follow-up projects. On the other hand, the project activities were directed at teachers and specialists: In the module 2GETHERLEARN, measures were developed to support pedagogical staff in all-day schools in dealing with socially disadvantaged young people. A strong partner network and the Youth Expert Team (JET) were involved in both modules from the very beginning and contributed their own expertise. At the end of the project, ACT2GETHER was successfully transferred to the KindeRechteForum (KRF) in Cologne, a long-standing project partner.
