The British Journalist Gideon Rachman coined the term "Easternisation" for this development. He offers a roadmap for the turbulent process that will shape the 21st century. On 14 May, he will discuss his theses with us in Berlin.

Gideon Rachman is chief foreign affairs commentator for the Financial Times and one of the most renowned experts on international politics. Prior to joining the Financial Times in 2006, Rachman spent 15 years with The Economist, where he served as a correspondent in Brussels, Washington DC and Bangkok. The British journalist is best known for winning the Orwell Prize for political writing in 2016, the same year he published the book "Easternisation - War and Peace in the Asian Century".
