Social challenges require concerted action. Civic involvement is an important foundation of this activity. Persons in need are the focus of many different actors at the local level. How is it possible to coordinate government support and the contributions of time and money offered by associations, neighborhood groups, the municipality or housing societies, develop a common vision and take action together?   

The Public-Spirited City helps to turn local networks into communities of shared responsibility in order to establish permanent environments of civic involvement in cities and municipalities.

• Support and training for socially-concerned persons and organizations
• A contact point for civic-minded persons that is supported by everyone
• Socially-concerned and active citizens who participate in decision-making processes
• Regional companies that act as partners and sponsors of civic involvement
• Supporting structures for the organization and exercise of civic involvement in politics and public administration

For the first time, the focus is not on certain projects or organizational forms. Instead, local instances of cooperation among a variety of actors are promoted, everything from existing networks to reliable partnerships.
