Short Vita

Tobias Bürger is Senior Project Manager within the Education and Next Generation program at the Bertelsmann Stiftung, where he leads the Young People in a Changing Economy project. He and his team produce evidence-based analyses and policy insights on how young people understand economic systems, the role entrepreneurship plays in shaping their aspirations, and how policy frameworks can strengthen their economic participation.

 

Previously, he specialized in political and non-profit communication, contributing to international research projects on the digital public sphere, gender equality in leadership positions within European media organizations, and political communication on social media platforms. He studied media and communication in Bonn and Liverpool and earned his PhD in 2019 from the School of Arts and Cultures at Newcastle University. In 2013, he was a Social Media Fellow at the Stiftung Mercator.
