Video: EU Citizens' Dialogue in Passau

The European Commission and the Bertelsmann Stiftung staged an innovative European Citizens' Dialogue in Passau December 6, 2018. 120 citizens of the Czech Republic, Austria and Germany were chosen at random and invited to discuss the future of Europe.

The focus was on European refugee policies, social policy and social coherence in the Danube-Vltava border region. The citizens began by creating 12 reform proposals in mixed groups at 12 tables, followed by a plenary discussion of the proposals with Martin Selmayr, General Secretary of the European Commission, and other Czech, Austrian and German politicians.
