Short Vita
Thomas Schwab, Senior Expert for European Economics at the Bertelsmann Stiftung’s Europes Future program, specializes in economic policy analysis, with a particular focus on territorial inequalities.
He has authored and co-authored several studies on economic cohesion, particularly within the context of the green and digital transitions based on innovative, data-driven research methods to support evidence-based policymaking. His work has appeared in prestigious journals such as the Journal of Public Economics, Research Policy, Intereconomics, and Wirtschaftsdienst.
Before joining the Bertelsmann Stiftung, Thomas worked as a data scientist for a leading Berlin-based internet company and gained valuable experience at a top auditing and tax consultancy. He holds a Ph.D. in corporate taxation from the University of Mannheim, having studied economics in Vienna, Berlin, and Mannheim.
