Short Vita
Lucas Guttenberg has been director in the programme Europes Future since April 2025. He leads the programme together with Malte Zabel. Prior to this, he was a Senior Advisor in the programme in charge of economic policy matters. Before joining us, he served as an advisor to the German vice-chancellor and minister for economic affairs and climate action and as deputy director of Jacques Delors Centre in Berlin. He began his career as an economist at the European Central Bank in Frankfurt and Washington, DC.
