Short Vita
Jenny was born and raised in Wuppertal, then moved to Bonn to study political science, sociology and American language and literature in Bonn from 1995, During that time she did various internships in journalism and press work at Amnesty International. After graduating in 2001, she moved to London and worked for international NGO OneWorld International, using information technology for development. From 2005 Jenny worked on her PhD in England and later Denmark, moved to Berlin and earned extra as translator for the Open Societies Foundation. After successfully completing her PhD on the participation of Muslim civil society in integration policy processes in Berlin, she ran a Social City Programme-funded project on participation with children from adisadvantaged neighborhood and worked as Science Communication Coordinator at the international research network EMES. In 2015 she re-joined Roskilde University as PostDoc and later Assistant Professor, teaching and doing research at the Center for Social Entrepreneurship at Roskilde University in Denmark until joining the Bertelsmann Stiftung in fall 2024. Jenny also has a husband, two children, two pets and is a Pilates teacher.
