Social Justice Index: European economic and debt crisis: Children and young people are hardest hit

In the EU, some 26 million children and young people are threatened by poverty or social exclusion. The social justice gap in Europe runs most strongly between north and south and between young and old. These are the central findings of our Social Justice Index 2015.

SGI 2015: How fit for the future are the OECD and the EU countries?

Award: Rita Süssmuth receives Reinhard Mohn Prize

Rita Süssmuth, former president of the German Bundestag, was awarded the Bertelsmann Stiftung's Reinhard Mohn Prize on June 11 in Gütersloh. In bestowing the prize, the foundation is recognizing Süssmuth for her pioneering efforts to create a contemporary immigration and integration policy.

Award: Rita Süssmuth receives Reinhard Mohn Prize

The recipient of this year's Reinhard Mohn Prize is former Bundestag President Rita Süssmuth. The Bertelsmann Stiftung is using the prize to honor the CDU politician for her pioneering efforts to create a contemporary immigration and integration policy. Süssmuth will receive the €200,000 prize at a ceremony to be held in Gütersloh on June 11.
