Welfare state reforms – mapping citizens' opinion

Across its 28 member states, the European Union features several different types of the welfare state. Yet citizens across Europe express a high level of agreement when asked about their views, hopes and expectations regarding social protections. Of particular importance here is the role to be played by the EU. This comparative survey offers insight into attitudes of citizens in eight European countries.
