International Network: Reduce educational disadvantage by good Child Care Centers

There is worldwide agreement that investments in Early Childhood Education and Care guarantee best effects – even if politics does not always act accordingly. During the last years participation rates have been more important than quality assurance of ECEC. In fact just high-quality early childhood education has positive effects. At the last Transatlantic Forum on Inclusive Early Years (TFIEY) in Amsterdam, international approaches of evaluation and governance-based politics were discussed. In addition to presentations of the European Commission and OECD, Bertelsmann Stiftung informed on its project State by State: Monitoring Early Childhood Education Systems. International experts have been particularly inspired by the validity and expressiveness of the monitoring, that has already initiated various improvements in the German ECEC system. Numerous participants requested similar tools for their countries.
