In order to prevent a potential crisis in long-term care, we need to improve career valuation in the field of care services. In addition to improved job conditions through higher staff numbers and recieving better pay, employees in the care services sector would like to have greater decision-making authority as well as access to career development and promotion opportunities. The burden of financing these things should be shared as equally as possible across generations. The Bertelsmann Stiftung has examined this issue in a recent study. Our current SPOTLIGHT HEALTHCARE summarizes the study’s key findings.
