International Reform Monitor: Social policy, labor market policy, industrial relations
Institute for Economic Studies and Analyses, ISAE
The Istituto di Studi e Analisi Economica (ISAE) - Institute for Economic Studies and Analyses - is a public research body deriving from the merge at the beginning of 1999 of the Istituto Nazionale per lo Studio della Congiuntura (ISCO) - National Institute of Studies on Economic Cycles - and the Istituto di Studi per la Programmazione Economica (ISPE) - Institute of Studies for Economic Planning. ISAE is an independent research institute under the supervision of the Ministry of the Treasury, Budget and Economic Planning.
ISAE carries out short, medium and long-term economic analyses and forecasts in the fields of economics, economic policy and public finances. ISAE Surveys are unique in Italy, and concern industrial firms, service firms and consumers, offering even the territorial breakdown for the data. The surveys are consistent with the E.U. harmonised surveys, thanks to a collaboration between European research institutes studying economic cycles. ISAE Surveys provide timely indications on operators' expectations and forecasts by reporting, for instance, economic confidence indicators as well as business' and consumers' expectations.
The staff of ISAE is highly qualified, with 55 researchers, 45 technologists and technicians and 60 employees in administrative and support roles. ISAE is located in the centre of Rome, in a large four-floors building plus another four floors of offices in a near building.
