Community foundations - Domestic
The Initiative Bürgerstiftungen (Community Foundation Initiative) is a joint project of the Bertelsmann Stiftung, the Klaus Tschira Foundation the Körber Foundation and the Association of German Foundations. The initiative also receives financial support from the C. S. Mott Foundation and the German Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth. The Community Foundations Initiative moved its office to the Association of German Foundations in January 2005.

The Bertelsmann Stiftung is working to raise public awareness of foundations and philanthropists, and to professionalize the domestic and international foundation sector through targeted consulting and networking.
