Promoting the Involvement of the Young in Social Causes

Young persons

Many young people are highly motivated to work for the common good. This willingness on the part of young people to become involved and to assume social responsibility is still too rarely recognized, systematically promoted or integrated into the development of our society. Opening up room for young people to work for the common good creates a wide range of opportunities: they learn through hands-on activities and develop their personalities as well as social skills. Society benefits as well, since involvement integrates and has a preventative effect against violence, drug abuse and criminality. In addition, those who learn to enjoy community work while they're young will also assume responsibility for our society as adults.
