Master classes

Workshop with Ed Schein

Ed Schein is considered a leading thinker and icon in the area of organizational and corporate culture. It therefore gave us great pleasure to welcome him to Berlin for a keynote address and reception on October 14 and a workshop on October 15, when Schein offered insights into the latest edition of his book Organizational Culture and his recently released Helping.

Theory U

Workshop with Otto Scharmer of MIT (the Massachusetts Institute of Technology) took place on June 23 in Frankfurt as part of the Bertelsmann Stiftung Leadership Series. The challenges of the future are becoming increasingly different from those of the past – and because of this, we must act with an eye to the future and let go of patterns from the past. Participants get to know the Theory U with its “seeing, sensing, presencing, crystallizing and prototyping.”

Master Class with Ronald Heifetz: Adaptive Leadership

The fast pace and increasing complexity of today's world require new skills of leaders. These challenges are subject of the third Master Class at the Bertelsmann Foundation Leadership Series. Professor Heifetz will give an overview on his approach of adaptive leadership in a one-day workshop. Following an introduction to the concept, participants will have the opportunity to work in peer-groups hands-on their own challenges and to debrief their discussion subsequently together. The third Master Class is envisaged to take place in Berlin in late 2011/early 2012.
