In May 2001, the Joint Initiative launched a confidential dialogue series, Soziale Marktwirtschaft heute (Social Market Economy Today), with Germany’s leading economic journalists. They meet three times a year at the Bertelsmann conference center in Berlin to discuss and evaluate reform issues with top experts from politics, business and academia.
