Born in 1959; university studies in economics, business and business psychology in Paderborn and Klagenfurt; economist; management experience in numerous German businesses (SMEs and major corporations); joined the Bertelsmann Stiftung in 1988 with responsibilities in a number of areas including corporate management, wage policy, health policy and culture; 1993, advisor to Liz Mohn; 1993, in addition to other responsibilities, became director of the Center of Excellence for Corporate Culture and Management and member of the Bertelsmann Stiftung's executive management team
