Prof. Dieter H. Vogel
Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Bertelsmann Stiftung, member of the Bertelsmann Management Company and managing partner of Lindsay Goldberg Vogel GmbH
Dieter H. Vogel began his career in 1970 at Bertelsmann AG as an assistant to the Executive Board, later joining Mohndruck GmbH management. After working in several executive positions for Pegulan AG in Frankenthal, he became chair of the Thyssen Handelsunion Executive Board in 1986, which made him a member of the Thyssen (Duisburg) Executive Board as well. Prof. Vogel was appointed vice-chair of the Thyssen Executive Board in 1991, and became its chair in 1996.
After leaving Thyssen in 1998, Dieter H. Vogel founded Bessemer Vogel & Treichl in Dusseldorf as a corporate consultant and managing partner. Since September 2004 he has served as managing partner at Lindsay Goldberg Vogel GmbH in Düsseldorf. In addition to his position at Bertelsmann, Mr. Vogel is also the chair of the Supervisory Board at Klöckner & Co. AG in Duisburg and holds an honorary professorship at Munich's University of Applied Sciences.
Dieter H. Vogel is both a member of the Bertelsmann Management Company, which controls 100 percent of the voting rights in Bertelsmann AG, as well as a member of the Bertelsmann Stiftung Board of Trustees. Dieter H. Vogel has been chairman of the Board of Trustees of Bertelsmann Stiftung since August 1, 2007.
