European Public Sector Award (EPSA)
Bertelsmann Stiftung, Speyer University and the European Group of Public Administration (EGPA) are launching a new European Public Sector Award: Innovations for Europe – Increasing Public Value.
In recent years several successful national awards have been launched such as for example the International Speyer Quality Award for Austria, Germany and Switzerland. There are national awards in Portugal, Denmark and Belgium too.
Now, the opportunity has arisen to strengthen these national awards with a European perspective and to devise innovations for Europe within the framework of the Lisbon process. A European Public Sector Award should reflect the characteristics of this sector and underscore its mission, which is to work for the common good and increase public value.
With the support of German Interior Minister Wolfgang Schäuble, the Bertelsmann Stiftung, the German University of Administrative Sciences in Speyer and the European Group of Public Administration announced today the inauguration of the European Public Sector Award. The goal of the award is to motivate administrative agencies throughout Europe to learn from the best practices of others and to fundamentally modernize their methods and structures.more
