Reinhard Mohn Prize 2011
Submissions phase for 2011 Reinhard Mohn Prize ends
The submissions phase for the 2011 Reinhard Mohn Prize ended on August 22, 2010. Within nine weeks we received information on a diverse range of interesting, innovative initiatives. In total, 123 projects from 36 countries were nominated, with 665 users leaving 181 comments and 881 assessments on the website www.vitalizing-democracy.org. We would like to thank all of those who took the time to help identify potential prize winners.
At the end of August a preliminary shortlist (www.vitalizing-democracy.org) was released with 20 candidates. Selection for the list was made based on the criteria listed on the website and assessments of the submitted projects posted there.
A working committee comprising members from all domains of society in Germany nominated seven finalists in October 2010. Although the submissions phase for the 2011 Reinhard Mohn Prize has ended, it is still possible to present projects at www.vitalizing-democracy.org. Contributions will thus transform the website into a valuable source of information on projects from all around the world that are dedicated to vitalizing democracy.
