The "Unternehmen für die Region" (Companies for the Region) initiative supports the involvement of businesses on a regional level by helping raise awareness of successful projects and promoting new partnerships between businesses, public policymakers and civic groups.

Partners in responsibility (Verantwortungspartner)

Developing regional structures

Businesses bundle and network their involvement in a region as "Verantwortungspartner" (Partners in Social Responsibility). Joint approaches to solving urgent regional issues are developed in cooperation with other partners, including communities, administrative districts, associations and nonprofit organizations. The basic idea behind the this model is to bring public policymakers, businesspeople and civic organizations together to develop suggestions for tackling problems such as shortages in skilled labor, social cohesion, education or supportiveness for families.
The regions are supported by members of a nationwide initiative group made up of prominent businesspeople who are themselves involved in social issues.
